Fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity
and Microvascular Surgery
Our ACGME-accredited fellowship offers a comprehensive experience in treating clinical hand and upper extremity conditions, as well as microsurgery.
The Fellow will learn the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for management of:
- Acute trauma
- Congenital deformities
- Nerve injuries
- Post-traumatic reconstruction
- Rheumatoid and other types of arthritis
The Fellowship includes small and large total joint replacement of the upper extremity. Microvascular surgery, including replantation and free-tissue transfer, is also stressed. The Fellow will be under the direct supervision of attending surgeons, but at times will have autonomy in supervising residents and medical students. Applicants must be board eligible or qualified in orthopaedic, plastic or general surgery.
In addition, time is allotted for research and educational meetings. The Fellow is expected to participate in clinical and basic science research projects.
