Michael S. Sirkin, MD, is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon at Rutgers North Jersey Orthopaedic Institute (NJOI) as well as Vice Chairman, a professor and Co-Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). His clinical interests are in extremity fractures and orthopaedic infections. In addition to his positions with the school and the practice, Dr. Sirkin is an attending physician at:

  • Overlook Medical Center
  • Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
  • University Hospital in Newark, NJ
  • Saint Barnabas Medical Center

Along with numerous orthopaedic publications, book chapters and service on several major committees, Dr. Sirkin has been the recipient of many honors and awards, including the Winquist Cup for Best Lab and the Edward G. Bovill Award for Best Paper. He is an active educator in the field of orthopaedic trauma and infections.

Dr. Sirkin is a member of Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. As part of his service to his community, he has also worked with Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Sirkin completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal trauma at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He completed his residency in orthopaedics at New Jersey Medical School, during which time he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He also received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School, and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in physiology from Michigan State University.
