The spine, which forms the base for the rest of our skeletal system, is a semi-rigid structure consisting of 33 vertebrae (block-like series of bones) that are connected together by spinal discs, ligaments, joints and muscles.
The structure is broken down into five sections:
- Cervical (neck)
- Thoracic (chest)
- Lumbar (low back)
- Coccyx (tailbone)
At North Jersey Orthopaedic Institute (NJOI), we provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide spectrum of spinal complaints. Our experienced team of physicians will take the time to evaluate you and make optimal treatment recommendations. Treatment options consist of initiating conservative measures whenever possible and making surgical recommendations only as needed.
We respect your time and make every effort to ensure you are seen promptly, keeping in mind your individual circumstances. We understand that each patient has unique goals, and we help you to achieve them. By collaborating together, we work with you to improve your pain and functional abilities.
